PROBLEMS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S PLAY “HAMLET”
PROBLEMS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S PLAY “HAMLET”
Introduction. William Shakespeare is the creator of a huge number of works. The famous playwright created a lot, as M. claims. Barg, unique images that are not similar to any other [1, p. 24]. According to most researchers, the images created by William Shakespeare are able to remain forever in the reader's memory precisely because of their uniqueness.
Today, there is a fairly large amount of literature and research devoted to the study of the works of William Shakespeare, each of which studies and reveals the features of the playwright's work and the uniqueness of his images, the problems of his works. However, it should be noted that William Shakespeare was not so famous among his contemporaries, and therefore there is not much information about him. The solution to this problem is the analysis and research of his works. After all, it is through his creation that the author is able to reveal himself.
The object of this study is the play “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare.
The subject of this study is the problems of William Shakespeare's play “Hamlet”.
The purpose of this study is to identify the main problems of William Shakespeare's play “Hamlet”, which are revealed through the image of the main character.
Main body. Analyzing the images of the main characters in the plays of William Shakespeare, N.N. Zozulina argues that William Shakespeare, as a rule, borrowed the plot of his plays from other writers and playwrights. According to the researcher, the image of Hamlet from the tragedy of the same name could be borrowed from a real person – Prince Amlet of Jutland, who lived until 827 and whose story was told by Saxon Grammaticus in the “History of the Danes”, dated around 1200. Based on the image of this historical figure, such works as “Tragic Stories” by Francois Belfort (1576) were written [6, p. 44]. However, the purpose of this study is not to create the image of Hamlet, but to study the tragedy of William Shakespeare “Hamlet”.
